2020 is the year of remote working and face-masks.
Remote work was on the rise 2019. While having the ability to work from outside of a corporate office has been feasible for a few decades, working remotely is only now becoming mainstream. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, everyone worldwide who is able to is now working from home. Since Spain was one of the first country after Italy to lockdown completely, we took early measures to ensure our team can work, manage projects and interact with our clients using digital tools. These omni-channel tools, amongst others are:
- Zoom for video conferencing
- Microsoft Sharepoint for GDPR compliant document management
- Slack for omni-channel collaboration
- Asana for project and task management
- Smaply for customer experience design
- GetHarvest for resource management and billing
One of the most touted arguments for remote work is the increased productivity that comes with its flexibility. Our team always put in extra effort in their work, going above and beyond together.
How remote work benefits our team.
The most obvious reason for why our team work remotely is because it offers them a more flexible lifestyle in times of COVID-19. They aren’t required to be at work during a set time frame, so that our team can focus on the things that matter at their own discretion. We have team members that are also parents, which means they have the ability to start work around the times in the day when the children at home need their full attention.
Better health and wellness
We realised that our team is notably less stressed and have higher morale. By eliminating that commute, and letting everyone work in an environment that they’re comfortable in, we sleep more and are nurturing less stressed-out team members. A happier, healthier team produces better work and feels more committed to their projects. From this perspective, remote work is just good business.
Renewed passion for their job
After several weeks of operating fully remotely, our team is doing an even better job outside of the our physical office. They are more inspired by their surroundings and can filter out environmental distractions as they see fit.
